Account budgets (Google/Bing) setting explained

The Account budgets tab can be found under Brand settings and also under platform connections when adding/editing a platform. I lets you view and manage your connected Google Ads and Bing Ads account budgets. It displays active monthly budgets and current spend progress.

  1. What is the purpose of Account budgets?
Account budgets allow you to control and monitor the total monthly spend for your connected Google Ads or Bing Ads accounts. The main purpose is to ensure you never exceed the agreed-upon monthly advertising budget for a Brand or client.
  2. How does a Google Account budget work?
Google Account budgets are part of the Google Ads billing system and can only be used by accounts with invoice billing (credit lines). Instead of paying by credit card, these accounts receive invoices based on their monthly spend.

Adcredo’s Account budgets feature is built to work directly with Google Ads account budgets. It automatically renews monthly budgets in Google Ads for users who have invoice billing enabled — eliminating the need to manually create new budgets each month.

  3. Why is this important?
If you manage many clients and campaigns across multiple accounts, small overspending in individual campaigns can quickly add up to a significant total.

Google’s system can also sometimes push extra delivery near the end of a month to “smooth out” pacing — which can result in unwanted over-spending compared to what was agreed with your clients.

Using Account budgets ensures that each account has a hard monthly limit and prevents spend from exceeding the defined amount.

  4. How does Auto renew feature in Adcredo work?
When Auto renew next month budget is enabled, Adcredo automatically creates new account budgets in Google Ads for the following month, based on the previous cycle.

This means you do not need to manually set a new budget every month — the system follows the budget cycle and renews it automatically.
  5. How is the budget calculated?
You can choose how Adcredo calculates the renewed budget:
    1. Channel totals (recommended) – The system calculates the total budget per advertising channel (e.g., Google Ads) based on connected campaigns. This is the safest option to ensure Google Ads budgets match the intended monthly limit.
    2. Campaign totals – Uses the sum of all active campaigns under the Brand. Use this only if each campaign budget is configured accurately and belongs to the same platform.
    3. Order target – Uses the total order budget if multiple campaigns across several platforms are included. This can cause Google to receive a higher limit than intended, so it’s not recommended unless all campaigns are platform-specific.
  6. What happens when I activate a new budget?
When a budget is activated, it becomes a fixed budget with a set end date. Adcredo automatically aligns this with the monthly billing cycle.

If there is an older, previously approved budget with a long end date, Adcredo will not overwrite it automatically — you will need to manually deactivate and recreate the budget following the steps below.
